Today’s Tastemakers women who have mastered whisky
T he whisky industry has evolved significantly over the past decade or so. Women have not only been developing a taste for whisky as consumers, but have also become masters of the craft, quite literally. We had the privilege to connect with four such women who have mastered whisky, and yet it’s important to note, they are not industry anomalies. There are countless other women who have stepped into key distilling roles including Kirsteen Campbell, Master Whisky Maker at The Macallan; Rachel Barrie, Master Blender for The GlenDronach, BenRiach and Glenglassaug; and Allisa Henley, Distiller and General Manager at Sazerac. With International Women’s Day in mind, we invited our selected tastemakers to share their insights on why encouraging female representation in distilling is essential to the long-term success of the industry as a whole.
