Absolutely! The reality is that everyone loves Canada, especially Vancouver. So, wine journalists like Andrew Jefford find themselves at the VIWF, and I’ve had the opportunity to interact and chat with them and with producers I haven’t had the chance to meet before. It’s always a fantastic community of people in the wine industry that I can connect with. Another highlight was the buzz in the room when South America was announced as the theme continent for 2023. I appreciated the openness to the concept of a continent being the focus, versus a country or region. Here we share six Evan Goldstein- approved wines from the US and BC to seek out at the wine festival. You can pick up a bottle at the VIWF at the on-site store, or pick one up at your local BCLIQUOR to explore at home. The VIWF encourages responsible drinking and partners with the Get Home Safe program, offering a complimentary one-zone Compass ticket to International Festival Tastings patrons.

Robert Mondavi Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon USA $59.99 255513 The bouquet showcases dark currants, tobacco leaf, earthy truffle and spiced oak. Medium to full-bodied, it offers ripe tannins, superb balance and an impressively long finish.
