With this April’s VQA release, we are celebrating 100 percent British Columbia (BC) wines like never before.

After the devastating deep freeze of 2024, the terroir gave winemakers a bounty of beautiful fruit for the 2025 harvest. This release features whites (notably the beloved BC Pinot Gris) and rosés fresh from the new vintage, as well as trending varietal wines from older vintages, returning classics and wines brand new to BCLIQUOR store shelves. With a selection of styles and wineries represented in BCL stores across the province, there is a wine for every occasion and every table. Aromatic and minerally whites like Bacchus, Muscat Ottonel and Riesling are perfect for springtime aperitifs or to complement fresh salads and seafood. Rosé wines are definitely back in full force this year, with all shades of pink represented on the shelves. If you are craving more texture in your wines, Pinot Gris and its cherry-scented cousin Pinot Noir are classic regional matches with BC salmon. Darker reds like Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and blends can be cellared to bring out secondary savoury characteristics or enjoyed immediately for their bold fruit and toasty aromas. BC VQA advocates will be on hand to help guide you through these delicious products and advise you on what wines will make your gathering a true celebration of BC!
