TASTE Fall 2022

| BAR STAR |

WHAT’S TRENDING ON THE BAR SCENE FOR FALL? I’ve been seeing a lot of aged cocktails, and making your own infusions seems to be making a comeback.

WHERE IN THE CITY DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR GREAT COCKTAILS?

The Stock Room in Yaletown is one I’ve been to a few times, and the folks at Grapes & Soda are geniuses—they do some nice stuff. But one of my favourite bars in town to sit alone and have a cocktail at is Blue Water Café. WHAT IS A MUST-TRY COCKTAIL AT ACQUAFARINA? The Gambling Witch. The glass is washed with olive oil and it’s made with Bénédictine, rye, Strega and lemon and is served in a coupe glass. It has a beautiful mouthfeel. WHAT IS A MUST-TRY COCKTAIL AT PER SE SOCIAL CORNER? The Pistachio Flow. Mount Gay Eclipse Rum, oloroso sherry, pistachio syrup, lime and egg white.
